A. What is the ruling regarding reserving space in eidgaah or mosque by placing handkerchief and then go going shop or home?

B. Can a person reserve space for another person?

🔵Answer🔵

A. If a person comes and sits at a place in Masjid and then had to go out un case of emergency, such as cleaning nose, washroom or performing wudu etc and places a handkerchief at his place, then the place will be considered reserved by him. It will be his place and another person does not have a right to occupy it.

However, if a person comes and place handkerchief and then goes for work, then return at the time of prayers, it is wrong in doing so. If other person is less of space, he can move the handkerchief and can sit an pray there.

B. It is not right for a person to reserve space for another person. The person who comes first has the right to sit at the place and nobody should request him to move from there.
