*Gathering for Isale sawab at the home of deceased:*

It is seen that after the burial, on the same day, or maybe next day, or third day people gather at a place and recite Qur'an or kalima e tayyiba with the intention of isale sawaab for the deceased specially women. At the end, after dua'a food or sweets are served. Is this the right way of isale sawaab? If not, please enlighten about the right way. Jazak Allah khair.

First of all, there is no mention whatsoever of such isale sawaab tradition in shariah, our beloved Prophet SALALLAHU ALAYHE WASALLAM never did, nor the dahaba radiallah u anhum and tabiyeen and taba tabiyeen rahmatuallahi alayhim. That is why it is bid'aah. Also several other reason such as women's gathering, for showing off etc.

The right way of Qur'an khwani:

According to molana thanvi rah. It can be informed to close (family, friends, relatives) to recite from the Qur'an according to ones convenience. Recitation of surah qulhuvallah thrice can also be done. For the deceased will be rewarded similar to recitation of the entire Qur'an. It is best to recite 10 Qur'an for it is not the quantity but our intention that is considered by Allah swt.

Another way:

Without any announcement, family, friends and relatives gather at the mosque after prayers with the sole intention of isale sawaab and recite Qur'an is permissible.
